Biography

Sonia Coleman is a professor and distinguished scholar who has taught at the university level for 30 years. She specializes in literature, particularly English literature of the classical period. Coleman also writes about history and contributes to various literary publications.

Sonia Coleman currently lives in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she has lived since 1979. Coleman received a bachelor's degree from the College of Wooster in Ohio and then went to do graduate work at Brown University until earning his PhD. About ten years after writing his thesis on Nathaniel Hawthorne, Sonia Coleman started teaching at the University of New Orleans, where she continues to teach today.

Sonia Coleman is known for his ability to break down challenging texts into their essential elements and then present them back in a concise manner that is easy to understand. She focuses on making the material interesting for the student while at the same time ensuring that they are able to get the most out of the assignment.

Professor Coleman has written several articles in "Studies in English Literature 1500-1900" and the "American Imago" journal. She is also a contributor for the literary blog "The Valve."

Sonia Coleman assisted in establishing an online journal that provides free access to scholarly articles about history. This project is entitled "History Unbound". The goal is to create a platform for scholars worldwide to share their work.
